introduction and context

These daily reflections are like a mini 30+ day retreat,
about 2 minutes per day,
September 1 thru October 4.

We are part of nature, part of God's creation.
We are siblings with brother sun, sister moon,

called to collaborate for the family's future.

Let's appreciate & be grateful.
And what can we do?

Season of Creation Daily brings

during the Season of Creation

--  to pause, reflect and act
with care for our common home.

Context

Each year since the 1990's

Christians have celebrated the gift of Creation

in a special way

from September 1 through October 4,

(the feast of St. Francis of Assisi),

the Season of Creation.

With the 2015 publication of Pope Francis' letter:

"Laudato Si'- On Care for our Common Home"

Catholics have joined enthusiastically,

responding to the call to

"heed the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor."

These daily reflections provide an opportunity to

pause each day of the Season,

reflect with gratitude on the gift of creation,

consider the plight of the earth and of those most impacted by environmental problems, and

discern how we are called to respond.
